I have to admit, I'm having the time of my life in NYJC...

and yes, i sometimes wonder why didnt i go there earlier.

But one thing's for sure,

I never regretted being part of the 25 2006 legacy.

While most of us might have gone our separate ways, just take faith that

125 2006 will always be in my memory. All the times we shared will not be forgotten.

hey its really been such a LONG LONG LONG time since anyone posted ANYTHING... but i think perhaps we are all too engrossed with our own celebration and activities after promos that we've got no time to blog... so once again, ur favourite ct rep sheng long aka SHANE is here to do the job manz... ;)

its jus so ironic how we were so enthu initially bout this blog before promos (when we ought to be studying) and now when we are so free but no one posted anything... so ironic again how so many of us (including me) keep asking others to blog or post something yet we didn't do so ourselves...

but on the other hand, perhaps we have gotton so used to each other company and having face to face conversation that we no longer need to communicate via blogging anymore... well at least thats something we really should be elated about!!! (like u know that time we were still thinking 'how to tell those other people in the class ah? erm... i think jus type on class blog lo... they will see one... then they will know ;) ' ) that was really pathetic la... haha... but its SO different now!!! we are really united together as a class and each of our differences is what made this class unique. no pt having a bunch of 17s-20s with the exact same mentality and preferences together in one class... so what if we agreed on everything? so what if we thinks the same?

variety is the spice of life!!! and different spices is what made 125!!! (erm that sounds weird but still... ;) ok ok... first and foremost, CONGRATULATIONS to each and everyone of 125 in promoting (in one way or another) to 225 next year! like what sophie said, 'i'm jus so happy no one got left behind'. yupz thats so true... whatever it is let us not dwell on our promos result anymore but move on ok? we must continue to work even harder! kambatei! we can do it one!

i think we should have studying sessions to help one another during this holidays... sch reopen block tests is impt to EVERYONE ok? so lets meet up and MUG hard for 2007 term 1 block tests. confirm soon ya? ;)

oh ya... side track a bit... i feel that my english writing skills have deteoriated... i can no longer include all the vocabs i tried so hard to learn in the past into my writings... ;( i guessed it must be the lack of practice, readings and my laziness... ;( haiz... anyway erm here's a quote as a food for thought...

BON VOYAGE to sophie, sharon and thet lwin who have left for china 18 hours ago on 18 nov 2006 8.30am on a 2 weeks cip cum excursion trip! i'm so jeolous of them to be able to go overseas this holidays while i'm stuck in Singapore... lets just hope my KL backpack tour with my friends on the last week of the year materialise! ;) oh and lets see whether sophie they all got bring back anything for us or not... haha! actually i'm quite confident that they will... haha... and people reading this pls don't say why i so pragmatic one... you xin jiu hao enough ma... oh pls la... its not like i really want to get anything but tangible stuff will be more convincing... hahahahaha!!! joking la...

oh ya... mr. heng!!!... courtesy of u-know-who, this is jus a simple suggestion on how to make sure u secure favourable relationships with yj teachers jus like how u did so with ur students. ;)
erm it might be better if you knock on the door louder next time before u enter a class to find students so as to better acknowledge whichever the teacher that is in the class, even if u think there isn't any... (u never know whether any of them is lurking around waiting to catch u off guard... jus like how we think mr. ganesh job is...) ok, the bracketed part is for comic relief but still, this is JUST A GENTLE REMINDER. ;) and since everyone except u know bout this, i feel that its ok to blog here... ;-)

oh ya again... mr. heng!!!... its bout the deepavali celebration that day at rathi's house... don't now whether u heard bout it but erm rathi's parents thought i was their gp tutor instead on that day!!! till rathi clarifed that u were actually the one after we left... hahaha... don't know what type of expressions to show so i remained impassive in the end upon hearing this... that REALLY explains lots!!! like why i feel they keep giving me those 'respectful and appreciaitve' look whenever i look at them... why they always nod their heads when i finished saying one sentence to them... et cetera et cetera... haha!!! now i know... so funny la... but actually i don't noe whether should i be happy or not... did i have the air of a teacher? or erm i jus look plain old among all the rest? ;~ haha... i think i jus happen to be more formal that day ba... but still, a more relational teacher like u is what i wanna become and try to surpass. ;)

HELLO soon-to-be 225 members!

yeah, its me, sheng long again. this blog has indeed been stagnating of age, but i believe its all for the better cause yeah? Study hard and study smart people!! we can do it one!!!

anyway i'm here to inform u all that i won't be taking promos with u all together... alright before the 'huh?', 'why?!' or 'oh man!', i think i've got to make myself clear first ba... at first wanna sms u all one but its more difficult to explain using sms, plus can't possibly send everyone... so for those who see this entry and others who didn't asked why i'm not around, please please explain to them ok? thks.

... alright, i felt VERY lousy initially. i mean its like what the la... i'm sure u can empathise with me... btw i only got the news yesterday... its beacuse of my BAD attendance due to my medical condition, thats why fall below the 95% promos mark etc etc etc... even though got MCs etc... so no choice have to take in the library instead. part of like the 'consequences'. well u all know me and my case, so haiz... its like... ... ... ... ... ... yup. but nvm! i believe nothing is by chance in this world. might be better that way ba... easier to go toilet, not so stress etc. must look at the bright side! jus don't be shocked when u see my seat's empty in the hall. i'm here!!! just taking the paper at library instead, then can come join u all again after that.

Thank God that's like sort of the only consequences... oh ya and i cannot be late for the papers. so yup tuesday to friday morning if u all coming to school for exams can maybe give me a wake up call... haha haha. only if u remember or is convenient for you la... if cannot nvm. i'll try to call people too. ;)

oh btw this matter not a lot of people know about it... i'm doing the papers in library with some other guys who got similar situation i think... anyway, this is only like the gist of the matter. thats lots of details that i don't wanna dwell about it anymore... sch politics... but still must thank mr. heng for his help... if not even worst. anyway, so PLS don't go like ask mr. Chua why why why etc... he got enough on his hands and is busy enough already.... so PLEASE just take things as it is and help me ok? thks man people...

first i'm SO sorry for this late post... told sophie to tell u all that i will post this on fri's night, but i was seriously so sick then... had real bad headache and fever. plus sore throat and lost my voice... really don't feel like doing anything... i felt handicapped.... not being able to talk.... so i just sort of shut myself up... slept.

then there was yesterday in which i still had fever... and haven't got my voice back... i just wanted to rest... because i'm so sick and tired. i went to the blog late at night... saw the entries by sophie. gave a few chuckles... thks so much sophie... for being there for us... then i saw the doodles... those tags... became quite emo... guessed that was the trigger... those overwhelming emotions bottled so long let loose... stress of not being able to catch up in sch... stress of the coming operation.... et cetera... et cetera... et cetera.

before i take up too much space again, better say the impt stuff first.

i really appreciate all these, even though i might not reply to all... cause i don't know what to say... thks? thks again? thks so much!? i guess its heartfelt... words isn't exactly the best tool here... yup. thks so much

alright...details of my operation tmr.

1. second time i'm in the operation theatre in my life as the patient.
2. 11am at Changi General Hospital Endoscopy Centre Level 3
3. Going to do a colonscopy... that means they are going to put a tube through my rectum to the colon in the large intestine... see what happen inside... need to pump air inside to do so... to diagnose colon and rectal prob... to perform biopsies... to remove colon polyps IF ANY... (pls no...) because that means there's more follow up to this... more operations... et cetera... et cetera... et cetera.
4. will be partially sedated only... that means i will be sleepy but still half conscious.... young patient they wounldn't go for full anaesthesia... waste time have to wait for me to wake up...
5. takes roughly one hour... (one hour with foreign object in my body... conscious)
6. have to stay in hospital so temporary ward for 2-3 hours... till i wake up... ok enough to leave with my dad whose going with me...
7. costs $332.50.... thank God got medisave...
8. rare but possible symptons that the doc and i are afraid of happening after the colonscopy... because that means a lot more stuff and complications... things like abdominal pain... high fever... and INTERNAL BLEEDING... i think this is the one i'm most worried for... sounds perfectly logical for it to happen... but i know it wouldn't happen. i have faith.
9. after the operation have to reat at home for a while... got mc covered... but that means more lessons missed... tue most likely cannot... hopefully wed can come see u all le...
10. will know the results that day... unless got polyps etc removed then must wait...
11. in 2 hours time i've got to prepare for it already... (now sunday afternoon 4pm) by drinking LOTS of laxatives.... 4 litres.... argh.... in the short span of 4 hours... from 6pm to 10pm... 16 cups... 15 min intervals... for 4 whole hours i will be so busy. drink, go toilet, come out drink, go toilet etc etc etc etc.... nothing else. wow this will be the busiest 4 hours of my life i'm going to spend man.... thinking of camping in toilet...
12. cannot eat anything from 6 pm later on till after operation... going to have my 'last' meal before operation later in 30 mins time... fish congee... i've already prepared what buffet to eat on tue when i'm feeling better already hopefully. SAKAE SUSHI. healthy and filling. student buffet from 3.30pm to 6pm? something like that... i will be there... alone maybe...

more details but really don't wanna let u all more worried le... its because of the class and teachers sincerity and genuine concern that i'm so frank about it... thks people.

Until that LAZY sann finishes the much promised blog entry on the OBS trip... I shall post a short one on da interesting GP lesson that we had last friday...

We were all told to sit in a circle and each of us were required to draw or write down the three things in our life that changed us the most... it was rather interesting as in the two hours went by pretty fast and we all got to know each other better...

And i bet it was fun throwing the Girraffe around right? Not talking bout u samuel...

SO i decided to write down three events that CHANGED the class the most....

1) PAE.... Thats when we all came down together for the first time... when we had the earliest contact with each other and the ice between us was still there....

2) The takashimaya seoul garden trip... dat was perhaps when we were closer and we finally began to feel the warmth of the class...

3) AND FINALLY... THE LAST EVENT WOULD HAVE TO BE THE ALL TIMES WE SPENT TOGETHER... Like thet lwin said... it cant be described.... and cant be drawn... its in all of our hearts...

hey yo people!!! this is the second part of the COMPLETE coverage of 125 non-OBSers Heritage Hunt on 20072006; the pictures! brought to u by none other than Sheng Long!!

P.S If u have not read the first part (write up part), pls scroll down and go do so! i assure u it will be a great read, though a little long and the paragraph structure a bit screwed up because of the length. thks thks!

this is derrick 'resting' at city hall mrt station, while waiting for train to take us to bugis, our first stop! (erm... apparently he was not aware of being taken.... oops...) btw the pic so him right? haha

alright, finally we arrived at bugis! mr. heng treated us to fried chicken cutlet from the pasah malang nearby!! thks! ;) quite nice. anyway then we walk walk walk for quite some time before reaching our first station-the famous Kuan Im Temple! (i bought a mint ice-cream along the way)

anyway very funny lo... u know whats the two questions for the Kuan Im Temple station? 1. what's the closing time of the temple on weekdays? oh come on... thats like so non-heritage lo... haha. and u can see the signboard that we got our answer from in the pic above (blocked by shi ling head though...) 2. what is the main deity being worshipped in the temple? omg! i mean what the lo... its like who else other than Kuan Im? ... in the end for 'safety' reasons, we got shi ling to go in and checked see whether really Kuan Im or not... haha. guess what? the answer is The Thousand Hands Kuan Im! oh ok... thank God we went to checked then... haha. anyway next stop was the Sri ...(can't remember sry!) Indian Temple. here's the pic!

next was Sculpture Square!!! it was really very nice, full of various arts and design. fyi: its known as the yellow house in the past. don't ask me why... anyway this pic (candid... we really didn't pose!) is the few of us finding the answer from the heritage board shown... took us a while cause this need a certain level of inference skills... haha!

this is us inside Sculpture House. there was lots of constructure and renovation going on and it was quite difficult taking this pic.. (take already must quickly go out..) anyway those faces a little gothic right? ... (i'm in front of the yellow face! can't find a green one so sad...)

yeah!!! here we are at Prinsep Church! quite nice right? the bricks i mean... haha. (don't know why derrick was closing his eyes...) anyway we didn't go in, cause no time we wanted to move on quickly, to the highlight of the day!!! (btw we took this pic after visiting the NTUC nearby... everyone was so thirsty but in the end only i buy a bottle of VODA VODA! the rest couldn't decide what they want... so dotz... anyway cheryl wanted us to share with her the five bottles yakult package which cost $2.30... so erm... cannot quench thirst u know? haha... in the end didn't buy... haha! oh ya mr. heng bought i Hersey's chocolate bar. he is always eating lo! first the chicken cutlet (he bought 2 packets), then now this... lastly, I was conned! the $1.25 Voda Voda tasted weird... should have listened to vivek go but the 40 cent ice mountain... sob... and i accidentally threw away the bottle at the esplanade dustbin... wanted to keep it one!)

alright alright. this is the highlight of the day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! US EATING TAU HWA AT ROCHER STREET! got read newspaper? its that FAMOUS stall ok? the shop was under renovation (again) so we got a place at the back alley! so cool!!! we were taken by surprised with the large amount of graffiti on ALL the walls... haha. anyway the tau hwa really very very nice!!! seriously man. it was so scrumptious and tasty! imagine putting the soft and watery tau hwa into your mouth, placing it on top of your tongue... ahhh... once u start to try and bit into it, it jus break into many parts and instantly dissolving in your very own mouth! now it saturates your whole mouth, together with the special sweet syrup, creating a invigorating experience like never before! u feel so energised and feel want to jump up and down in awe!!! and u will see people starting to weep and hug each other because they have NEVER tasted anything like this... argh!!!! its ineffable!

hmmm... regret going OBS now already? haha, don't be too sad... i believe OBS was still very fun! its only tau hwa after all... haha (but i tell u, the tau hwa taste is an experience u can die for!!) alright alright... anyway this is cheryl 'speaking' cryptic... hmm.. what is the hidden message here then? intersting shot by mr. heng. ;)

another shot by mr. heng. u all should read mr. heng blog to see what he said about this pic... quite funny... supposingly we are to link the recent ban of smoking in many public areas to the smokers themselves protesting, lamenting and speaking various cryptic in response to this.. ok mr. heng, we understand... ;)

after the ineffable, sensational and marvellous experience at Rocher Street, we walked to doulby gaurt mrt station to take a train to raffles place to find the Big Bird, our next station! *not sesame street one... here we are!! guess whether we are at the front or back of the bird? tell u la... its the back... so erm... the button is not the bird's belly button ok? ... btw, look at me! this is the aftermath of eating Rocher Street tau hwa! see see... thats why u all must be careful... what i say is true... seriously. the tau hwa rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

alright, this is our last stop-the old parliament house! by now we really ran out of time and was so tired after walking such long distances aroung Singapore... but it was fun! btw see how drained all of us at the back are? i tell u, its the tau hwe... make us cry and cry till so tired... (clearly i'm still in ecstasy after the savouring the tau hwe... and samuel already missing and thinking about it... haiz...)

oh ya the results for the heritage tour is not out yet. it will be announced next wk, mon if i'm not wrong. top 3 groups got prize!!! 125 will surely win one!!! yeah! btw, some stuff bout mr. heng: 1. he's from amk sec, then ajc. scored straight A's for a's ( i think except econs cause he didn't want to tell us) 2. on a SCIENCE teaching scholarship then change to arts honours... 3. he came to this blog already!!! (and of course saw that sann... devil incarnate post by elvis...) but he's not angry la! he can take jokes!!! thks ;) 4. he was drinking (again) goat milk while we were walking towards doulby gaurt mrt station. see i tolf u he's always eating and drinking. the thing is that we didn't even see him buying the goat's milk! i think he got it all ready in that bag of his.. is it? ;)

lastly, jus wanna tell all OBS people we were very happy even when u all were gone! of course we missed u all etc but we tried to make the best out of our situation... not a bad job done/. hey! but we are still a super united class ok? come back that time pls don't split into two groups; OBS and non-OBSers... thks thks. (btw mr. heng commented in his blog that 125 is united as a WHOLE class beyond belief! keep it up!)

yupz, this is the end of the post already... super good right? i must be a genius... (hey first post ok? though i took a a long time to write all these... bout three-four hours...) haha. btw, things that i want to thank for making this post possible are my computer, my Bloomsbury Reference New Edition Thesaurus and my Cobuild English Dictionary! haha. speaking of x-factor in a post... 1) we learnt how to extinguish real-life fires with real-life extinguishers! NO KIDDING.
vivek was the brave soul with went near the deadly flames.
2) we also learnt how to make bombs and we now know methods to easily kill a person.
3) MASS DE-CON. (de-contamimation) procedures tooo!

The COMPLETE coverage of the Heritage Hunt on 20/07/2006

say 'wowww'... haha. this is brought to you by none other than Sheng Long-the ultimate BRAZIL fan and class 'lau da'. haha. kk, enough of self-praise... anyway actually i'm not the first to blog bout the 125 non-OBSers la... cheryl is. (see previous entries) Thks cheryl!

haha, had to make sure that she's not blogging bout this beforehand before typing this post-my virgin post! yupz, this is the first time i'm blogging in my life so bear with me if anything not good enough ya? and don't complain i take up too much space! this post will be by far the longest and most dynamic and intersting post ever in the class blog history! (not forgetting the one with the most pics!!)

P.S I was SOOOOOOO tempted NOT to post all the pics we taken on that day because i really look pathetic on some of the pic... really cmi... BUT for the sake of those involved and the rest of the class who are in OBS, i put my IMAGE, APPEARANCE, MIEN and REPUTATION at risk just to give the whole class and whichever blog-viwer the most accurate and complete coverage and write up on the heritage tour! ;)

guess i will start from morning so kk here it goes:

first thing in the morning was english enrichment at audi... nothing much lo... passage was ok and gp-ish. quite good so OBS people take from us ya if you are THAT zealous... haha. anyway, mrs/miss emily teo was sort of like the in-charge throughout the whole session... so funny. we found out how mrs/miss emily teo punish her students if they look tired and yawning away in class --- stand up, lift up his/her left leg and put out his/her left hand, holding it parallel to the ground! stupid right?! sry sry but thats the truth i feel. she was like showing it to ALL of us in front of the audi and we were all laughing and sniggering at her. she smiled too and obviously proud of herself. oh pls... WE ARE NOT LAUGHING AT YOUR STUDENTS BUT YOU!!! haha haha haha! she was so ignorant... poor teacher...

then we went for this language enrichment thing... wasn't too bad i feel... we got splitted into the chinese, malay and indian group. not sure bout the malay and indian one cause i was not there... actually sue, rathi and vivek also didn't go, so we really don't know anything bout the other groups (rathi and vivek was 'studying') oh ya plus that giraffe... don't wanna join us then go library sleep. lazy giraffe! anyway so the rest of us went... actually was contemplating whether or not to go cause most of us don't even do chinese anymore... but that chinese HOD was like saying 'I don't care, everyone must go' so ok lo, we went.

watched a chinese movie. here's the funny part. the WHOLE show was in japanese, with really really occasional chinese dialouge. dotz right? and subtitles was in chinese and chinese alone. the thing is all those chinese characters were the original old form kind, not the simplified one. not that i can't read them and they made a difference, but i can gurantee at least half the population in the lt can't read them. so bascially many went into the lt watching a show they don't understand at all. and we have to answers 3 questions and submit them to our chinese teachers next mon... oops... did I tell you most of us don't take chinese anymore? ;)

to give some credit to the movie, actually it wasn't so bad la... quite touching. i'm not going to blog much bout the plot here so people who wanna know the story jus come find me... but i doubt anyone will be doing so... haha. Anyway, the WHOLE time derrick was giving comments about the movie. seriously. i say again. the WHOLE time. don't believe ask cheryl who was sitting beside me. sry derrick to betray u here but come on, thats the truth and u know it. pls don't be angry and blame me. first he was commenting bout the show being so sexist cause they featured men crying. alright i agree with that. almost all the men in the show cried. then derrick was commenting on the plot. then the dialouge. then prophesying bout what will happen next. then saying things like 'ah... now the guy die... huh? havent yet? (moments later...) see see! i say he will die already'. hahahahahaha. really funny la... he was like a commentator in a soccer match. this is the first time i hear him giving SO much comments at one go... haha. oh ya btw there was this scene where by they show this kid doing his big business. grahically. how the faeces come out etc... and the whole lt was like 'eeewww' here and there, like they never do it before like that...oh pls... kk. enough. after that got some talk with two 95.8FM djs. ex-YJcians. not bad. they are really good at talking and making sure that there wasn't any silence. what irony...haha

had lunch, nothing much, can't remember already sorry. i think we were all quite excited bout the tour at this time. after the briefing in hall where by we were slotted into groups (group 17 if i'm correct), we were off! off on the amazing race cum heritage tour!!!! actually was quite surprised when mr. ganesh told us there won't be any teachers following each group and at each station. we were on our own! so cool loh. jus have to report to esplanade by five after completing all the stations can already. its not a race against time and winners (top 3 groups) will be decided based on the number of correct questions answered. kk. all of a sudden, when we were about to go, mr. heng asked us whether he can tag along in our group. 'erm.. ok...' was our reply. little did we know that he was one great source of entertainmnet and help!!! (see all the group photos? all 9 of us was in because he took the photos for us!) thks mr. heng!!! u were great!

anyway mr. heng changed into his causual attire, not the usual shirt, black pants, leather shoes and ahem... white socks... but a t-shirt, jeans and cap. everything was ok la... it was like SOooooooooo him. seriously. very bugis street. you would have the same sentiments with me if u saw them. haha. then there was this sling bag that he carried. it was SOOOOOOOOOOO^999999999 pro-communist!!! seriously man! got a big red star in front and chinese characters in red at that back. haha. alright alright, i better shut up later our blog get marked... sry ah... but really must say ma... haha. anyway we were walking past the security guards and 'office' at the gate when all hell break loose.

there was this old indian security guard standing outside the office and this younger malay guard in the office (no connotations bout the race). anyway, we walked past the indian guard, nothing happened. we walked past the malay guard in the office, nothing happened. we took another five steps, BOOM! die. the indian security guard was like suddenly shouting and barking at us saying 'HEYYY SCAN la! u think i not here ah? (and blah blah blah)' thats the truth man! we were like so shocked and irritated lo... at least u can tell us in a lighter tone what or say excuse me or something... u hooligan ah? this is a school ok>? and somemore we were with mr. heng lo... like that scare us later heart attack die how? anyway, we obediently scanned each of our card (mr. heng was standing at one side waiting patiently for us), giving that really pissed off face and were about to go when BOOM! die again.

the security guard pointed at mr. heng and said 'HEY who do u think u are? why didn't u scan?! go scan now!!' hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! omg we seriously can't beileve what we were hearing. plus mr. heng was giving that total bewildered face, mouth slightly open, whole face blushing red. it was really super duper funny la... mr. heng then said he was a teacher etc. but guess what? u will never believe this man... the indian security said 'i don't believe u, show me your id!!' hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i would have died laughing there and then. i mean omg omg omg! seriously la this is STRAITS TIME headlines worthy type of ground-breaking news man! imagine wake up see latest ST headlines "Young teacher get barred from leaving sch ground by security officer at gate in YJ"!!! real funny la! kk.

our beloved mr. heng then search his communist sling bag for his id card but realised he left it on his desk in the staff room. oops... how? he asked us to wait there and quickly walked back to sch to get his id card JUS TO prove that he's a teacher and can leave the sch ground. oh my oh my... we really did felt bad for him. and that cmi security guard was still giving that smirk, obviously proud of himself that he had caught a student trying to escape sch without scanning. omg seriously. thank God mr. heng saw his colleague (fellow new teacher but in formal attire) halfway up the sheltered linkway and told him bout the incident, asking him to bear witness to the security guard that he is a teacher in YJ, jus to be able to leave sch... seriously oh my goodness la... that teacher was like trying so hard not to laugh out loud, but his attempt of self-control was clearly visible, adding on to the immerse embarassment and humiliation that mr. heng have to go through. poor mr. heng...

anyway finally everything was settled and mr. heng was able to leave sch without scanning bacause he's a teacher... haha haha. the security guard didn't even apologised lo... seriously he should be sacked. how to uphold the 'good' image of YJ when we have this kind of security guard at the front gate?! haiz...
